COMPANY
PROFILE
WatchMakers was set up in May1994 in Singapore
to take advantage of the continuing growth in the premium logo watch
market, which at time, few companies in Singapore were actively
pursuing. More and more companies at that time were giving out
specially designed watches as their corporate gifts. A large number
of direct sales marketing companies were also offering watches in
their brochures that accompanies the bank or credit cards mailers.
WatchMakers is able to compete effectively against the overseas
companies by offering competitive pricing, guaranteed on-time
delivery, correct colour reproduction, low minimum order and good
after sales service
MANPOWER
& STAFFING POLICIES
WatchMakers believes in setting the right
management and organizational structure for its operation. Unlike
most sole proprietor operations, Memories Souvenirs does not employ any of
the person due to personal relationship. Every management position
of the Company has to the appropriately and professionally
qualified.
The sole proprietor, Mr Loo Say Leng has been in the watch business
for the past twenty years. He has worked his way up to the post of
General Manager and has worked for a diverse segment of the watch
trade from retail chains, wholesale, distribution to manufacturing,
from one shop stores to multi chain stores, including duty free
shops in Singapore and Malaysia and also as a consultant to
companies mergers and acquisition in the watch industry.
Its Sales Director, Ms Anne Saw is a graduate professional sales
manager who has been with the Company shortly since incorporation.
Ms Saw handles the local corporate business to business segment of
the Company.
Though the Company is not large, we have in our employment a full
time Graphic Designer who caters to all the designing needs of the
customers and company.
Our production department is run by an experienced factory
supervisor with more than 10 years in watch assembling.
PRODUCTION
CAPACITY
WatchMakers is housed in the Jurong Town
Corporation Industrial Flatted Factory. It occupies an estimated
1628 sq ft of factory floor., The Company can produce about 1,000
pcs of watches per day.with the help of specialised machines and
tools for watch assembling. At peak period, it has a regular pool of
workers who can assist the factory to increase the capacity to 3,000
pcs per day at short term notice.
COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY
WatchMakers believes strongly in the
investment of suitable machines and equipment to increase
productivity, quality and competitiveness. It has invested heavily
in Pentium computers , scanners and digital cameras and all
computers are networked with internal mail and external e-mail.
It also has acquired specialised software programs with accounting
and MRP capabilities and our company inventory systems all functions
under the MRP programs in ensuring that all components parts never
run out and are ordered and delivered at a right time.
